Scooter pirates never stop surprising us. On July 22, the following post appeared on The Bad Bunzlauer:

#MotoBunzlauer No greetings to the brat on the scooter who rode onto the crossing near the courthouse on a red light. Next time with a big one—you might not be so lucky, and your parents won’t be able to pay off the company car.

The topic returns regularly. At the beginning of July, we described an incident that took place on a Sunday afternoon. A Reader described the situation as follows:

At the skate park, a bunch of kids—excuse the language, little sh*ts—on scooters. As if it wasn’t enough that they disturb people and parents’ peace, they also honk their horns deliberately to make things unpleasant for them. They said themselves that they had the right to because there is no nighttime quiet ordinance. And they honked even more out of spite.

She added:

On top of that, when you call their attention to it, they brazenly insult older people, keep riding around, and throw water balloons. They show that they rule the place, some kind of mafia (…).

As she emphasized, the worst part was that the family—for the sake of peace—went somewhere else. But the scooter riders, “with their faces covered by masks,” followed them. “Like some gangsters.”

We asked the Reader whether she intended to report the matter to the authorities. The woman said:

Probably not. When I took out my phone, they scattered and I let it go; you can’t prove anything against kids like that.

On June 23, Nowogrodziec – news wrote:

We received the entire recording from a resident, but decided to publish only a frame from the video.

According to the material’s author:

“No helmets, riding two to a scooter, riding on the left side of a municipal road, riding head-on, failing to stop, and passing a car coming from the opposite direction on the left side... This will end badly one day.”

The service added: – The situation took place on the road between Parzyce and Nowogrodziec. We appeal for common sense and compliance with safety rules; a moment of recklessness can lead to tragedy.

The topic returns regularly. In mid-June, we reported that a Reader Nowogrodziec – news wrote:

Yesterday (June 13—editor’s note: istotne.pl), while driving along Mickiewicza Street, I had a boy about 12 years old on a scooter in front of me. I was driving toward Dino, and so was the boy. There were probably two parked cars in the right lane that had to be passed. A van was coming from the opposite direction, and instead of stopping or even riding onto the sidewalk, the boy squeezed through, passing the cars and thereby passing the van at the same time!

She added that this was by no means the first situation of this kind:

I don’t know whether the parents of children who move around the streets so boldly know how their children ride. Some time ago, I also had a situation with a boy on a scooter. That time, the boy came out from a road by the apartment blocks onto the main road toward the cemetery, cutting diagonally across the road to get to the other side. He held the handlebars with one hand, and in the other he held a phone, which he was staring at instead of looking at the road ahead!

I was coming from the opposite direction! He almost went under my wheels!

And she appealed:

PARENT!!! Take an interest in your child! Talk to them about road safety when riding a scooter!

Meanwhile, on The Bad Bunzlauer a photo of a young scooter rider by the viaduct in the City of Ceramics appeared at the beginning of June. The author accompanied it with a humorous yet malicious comment:

The dude on the scooter—properly wearing a helmet. Granted, he’s riding against traffic on the “national road,” but you can’t expect everything from young people 😁

He immediately added:

Let’s enjoy the little things.

Indeed. New regulations concerning the safety of the youngest road users came into force on June 3, 2026. Children and young people under 16 who ride bicycles, electric scooters, or personal transport devices will have to wear protective helmets. The aim of the changes is to reduce the number of serious head injuries and increase safety on roads, cycle paths, and in public spaces. More on the topic in the article: From today, an important change. Helmets mandatory on bicycles and scooters.

The photograph reignited the discussion about young road pirates on the roads of Bolesławiec.

As we have unfortunately already emphasized, the topic is not new. Let’s recall. On April 19, we quoted a post from The Bad Bunzlauer:

There used to be gangs: rockers on Harleys, mods on scooters. In the age of TikTok... I don’t know, maybe hulsi, hulajsi?

The recording shows a group of children riding scooters across virtually the entire width of the traffic lane. At one point, one of them—with complete nonchalance—crosses a double solid line and moves into the opposite lane.

A forum user left a pointed comment under the recording:

I also have a recording of these boys’ antics: they rode under cars, attacked drivers who called their attention to it, and kicked cars. I have photos and recordings; if the injured person is reading this, contact me privately. A report will also be sent to the police, because it is not normal for children aged 8–15 to kick cars and ride under cars in the city center.

We had in fact covered the topic much earlier. In September last year, we wrote that we received two reports about the same issue in a single day. The first Reader:

Please address the topic of a group of young people on bicycles and scooters. They gathered on the lawn by Asnyka Street, where there used to be a ceramic fountain, and then set off down the city toward the Market Square at high speed. The incident took place at around 6 p.m.

And commented:

Because of groups of teenagers “terrorizing” pedestrians on sidewalks, it is frightening to leave the house.

He also added:

I am an able-bodied person, but what are older people supposed to do when, due to health limitations, they are unable to get out of the way of a speeding scooter or bicycle.

At the head of the group was a young man using a horn, and thanks to that no one was injured.

The Reader noted that he had spoken about it with a female police officer, but she was apparently occupied with another intervention at the time.

About 1.5 hours later, another Reader wrote to us:

This is how our young people have fun.

And sent us the following video:

As we reported at the end of April, the police are handling the case of scooter users “terrorizing” drivers. We will return to the topic.
