Jesteś za zwiększeniem liczby żołnierzy US Army w Polsce?
President Donald J. Trump announced the decision on Thursday evening (Polish time) on Truth Social:
In connection with the electoral success of Poland’s current President, Karol Nawrocki, whom I proudly supported, and our relationship with him, I am pleased to announce that the United States will send an additional 5,000 soldiers to Poland. Thank you for your attention!
Why this decision? Recently, the media, including istotne.pl in the article What about the US Army soldiers in our region?, reported extensively on the “temporary delay in the troop rotation to Poland.” Onet.pl even quoted US Vice President J.D. Vance, who stated:
We did not reduce the number of troops in Poland by 4,000 soldiers. We delayed the deployment of troops that were supposed to go to Poland. This is not a reduction. It is a standard delay in a rotation that sometimes occurs in situations like this.
More Americans! But how many more?
Now, in turn, a post has appeared about additional soldiers. But what does this decision mean in practice? As defence24.pl analyzes:
(…) it is therefore unclear whether the “additional” 5,000 troops announced by Trump mean a new contingent on top of the previously planned rotation, or whether this concerns the resumption of the deployment that had previously been suspended.
If Washington therefore intends both to resume the aforementioned rotation and to send new troops to the Republic of Poland (“additional 5,000 Troops to Poland” – these are the exact words used by President D. Trump in his Thursday post), the number of US Army soldiers could increase to approximately 15,000.
What it will be in reality—time will tell. What do you think? We invite you to discuss the matter and vote in the poll.
