The high-profile case of the 32-year-old vandal has resurfaced. As it turns out, in April the same man was caught with marijuana.

What is more, he had already committed other offences, including damaging GOPS property in Gromadka, violating a restraining order prohibiting him from approaching his father, and appropriating a document.

Let us recall. In the last days of March, the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters received a report concerning the destruction of panels displaying artwork created to mark the 70th anniversary of the Bolesławiec Youth Cultural Centre. – The losses incurred by the YCC were estimated at several thousand zlotys – junior aspirant Bartłomiej Sobczyszyn from the District Police Headquarters said at the time.

He added: – The incident caused outrage among the local community, and residents could not understand the perpetrator’s motives, especially since some of the works had been created by participants in art classes—that is, children and young people.

Officers undertook intensive operational activities in the case. The spokesperson said:

The speed and thoroughness characterizing the work carried out by officers of the Criminal Division of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters led to the identification of the perpetrator and then his arrest.

The perpetrator turned out to be a 32-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County. This was not the only offence on his record. Not only did he destroy the aforementioned exhibition, but he also engaged in indecent conduct by soiling the entrance doors of the District Court in Bolesławiec.

And now he will answer for his actions before that very court.

The police remind the public:

Every such act will meet with a firm response from the officers, and perpetrators must reckon with legal consequences—in this case, even up to 5 years in prison.
