The District Prosecutor’s Office in Lubań is conducting preparatory proceedings against a 22-year-old resident of Lubań suspected of damaging property in his grandmother’s apartment by smashing the glass in a room door, breaking furniture and other household items, as well as insulting the intervening police officers and threatening to kill them.

The incident occurred on the morning of September 28, 2025, in Lubań. – The perpetrator, who lived with his grandmother, started an argument for no apparent reason, during which he wrecked the apartment, damaging the room door, furniture and other household equipment – reports Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra.

The victim fled to a neighbor and called officers of the County Police Headquarters in Lubań for help.

However, the police officers who arrived at the scene could not enter the room where the perpetrator was staying because the man had barricaded himself inside. Firefighters were also called and helped the officers force their way into the apartment.

Spokeswoman: – When he was arrested, the perpetrator insulted the police officers using vulgar and commonly recognized offensive words, and after being taken to the County Police Headquarters in Lubań, he threatened to kill them.

After being brought to the prosecutor’s office, the 22-year-old was charged. He faces up to five years in prison. Prosecutor E. Węglarowicz-Makowska:

During questioning, the man partially admitted to committing the offenses of which he was accused and provided explanations. He was unable to explain his aggressive behavior.

At the investigators’ request, the court remanded the aggressor in custody for two months.
