At the request of the District Prosecutor in Bolesławiec, the District Court in Bolesławiec ordered two months of pre-trial detention for a 36-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County.

The man is suspected, among other things, of failing to comply with a court-imposed ban on contacting his siblings, threatening to murder them and set fire to the house and car belonging to his brother. Investigators also accuse him of breaking into and stealing from a car.

The investigation found that between August 8 and September 26, 2026, the suspect allegedly repeatedly violated the bans imposed on him. The District Court in Bolesławiec prohibited him from contacting his siblings in any way and from coming within 20 metres of them for three years.

Despite this, the man came to the victims’ home. And, as investigators established, he behaved aggressively toward them each time.

He threatened to murder them and set fire to their home

Another incident of this kind occurred on September 26. The 36-year-old, who was intoxicated, again approached his brother’s house.

At that time, he threatened both his brother and his brother’s wife with murder and burning down their house and car. The victims feared that the threats would be carried out, particularly because of the suspect’s previous criminal record.

He broke into a car in Rózyniec

However, these were not the only acts with which the 36-year-old was charged.

Between September 15 and 20, 2026, in the economic zone in Rózyniec, the man damaged the lock of a Scania vehicle and then entered it.

He took items from the vehicle, including the registration certificate, nine keys, a flashlight and a microphone set. (Their value has not yet been determined.)

The suspect admitted to the acts of which he was accused and gave explanations. In his view, his siblings were responsible for the conflict in the family.

He had previously been convicted

The 36-year-old had previously been convicted of making criminal threats.

Moreover, on September 21, 2026, the prosecutor filed an indictment against him with the District Court in Bolesławiec concerning the physical and psychological abuse of his wife.

In connection with the current charges, the court decided to remand the suspect in pre-trial detention for two months.

The offences with which he has been charged carry a sentence of between one and 10 years in prison.
