There is no longer either a Military Recruitment Command or a military recruitment commandant in the City of Ceramics. The reason? The Homeland Defence Act, which entered into force in April this year. However, as istotne.pl is told by Maj. Agnieszka Kozik, the unit itself has not ceased to exist; under the provisions of the aforementioned act, it has simply changed its name to the Military Recruitment Centre, as have the other 85 Military Recruitment Commands in the country. Its location remains the same.
The change was made because, in the current geopolitical situation, the priority is to increase the size of the Polish Armed Forces. For this reason, voluntary basic military service was introduced. Major A. Kozik, the non-established press officer of the Military Recruitment Centre in Bolesławiec, assures that the centre will make every effort to recruit as many volunteers as possible.
The head of the Bolesławiec Military Recruitment Centre is Lt. Col. Marek Dąbrowski.
