Over the next few weeks, the Municipality of Bolesławiec intends to take over the county roads in the center of the City of Ceramics. As the city authorities explain, the aim is to return to the idea of “one city, one manager.”
What will change?
The City of Bolesławiec will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance—including snow removal and cleaning—of all roads in the center. This will make it possible to introduce a paid parking zone, which we covered in detail in the article A concept for introducing paid parking zones is being developed.
What do you think? We invite you to join the discussion.
Let us recall that in January we reported that the County had taken over approximately 7 km of provincial roads in Bolesławiec.
“The longest sections are Jeleniogórska, Kosiby and also Garncarska streets,” said Tomasz Gabrysiak, Bolesławiec County executive, at the time. He added: “Now we will select the county roads within Bolesławiec that we will transfer to the City to manage.”
It is also worth emphasizing that previous administrations of Bolesławiec County strongly opposed transferring county roads to the city authorities. We wrote about this, among other places, in the article Stasik on transferring education and roads to the City: You do not sell something that works excellently. The late Dariusz Kwaśniewski was also opposed to this concept.
