On September 5, as required by military ceremony, soldiers leaving the brigade, as well as their superiors, subordinates and civilian employees, gathered in the Tradition Hall of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade. After the order appointing the soldiers to their next official positions was read, the deputy commander of the regiment, Colonel Dariusz Nawrocki, representing the brigade commander, spoke. He warmly thanked the soldiers for their many years of service in the Świętoszów unit: “Captain, you are an example of an exemplary officer who knows how to combine command and staff duties. In recognition of your outstanding service, dedication, skills and qualifications, you have been selected for a course at the Bundeswehr Command and Staff College in Hamburg. On behalf of the brigade commander, myself and everyone gathered here, I can only wish you success in your studies. After you complete them, we invite you to return.”

Next, Captain Fedorowicz’s commander, Lieutenant Colonel Paweł Michalski, also spoke. On behalf of himself and the battalion’s soldiers, he honored the departing soldier by presenting him with an officer’s saber: “Thank you for exemplary performance of your duties, not only during exercises and training, but also during inspections in the section and while carrying out mandate tasks during the 8th rotation of the Polish Military Contingent in Afghanistan. It was not easy there. During the 14th rotation of the Polish Military Contingent in Afghanistan, you remained on site and proved yourself in the brigade headquarters. You were also recognized as the commander of the 3rd Tank Company. I thank you for all of this and wish you success at the Command and Staff College in Hamburg. It is not easy to get in there.”

Words of praise were also directed at Corporal Michalak. They were spoken by the commander of the self-propelled artillery squadron, Lieutenant Colonel Robert Wiese, as well as Major Jan Chmielewski, with whom the soldier worked as a non-commissioned officer in the personnel section during the 14th rotation of the Polish Military Contingent in Afghanistan.

With great emotion, both departing soldiers said goodbye to their colleagues, thanking them for years of shared service, understanding and solving problems together.
