Police officers from the station in Kruszyn wanted to stop a car with German registration plates for a roadside inspection. Two young men were travelling in the vehicle. The Audi’s driver failed to stop, hit a police car and drove away from the scene.
The officers found the car several hours later on one of the streets in Bolesławiec. The Audi, worth approximately PLN 80,000, had visible dents in its bodywork. It turned out that the car had been stolen in Germany two days earlier.
The vehicle will be returned to its owner. Efforts are under way to establish the identity and arrest those responsible for the theft.
