A married woman in her twenties falls mutually in love with a married man. Over 25 years, the lovers see each other only three times, at Christmas parties held at her husband’s company. When they meet for the fourth time after a quarter of a century, he still loves her.
The author of the play “Old Love,” Norm Foster, dispels our ideas about love—both spiritual and physical—which a person may encounter in mature, and even very mature, age.
Bud Mitchel (Artur Barciś) has been in love with Molly Graham (Małgorzata Ostrowska-Królikowska) for many years. She seemingly receives his advances coldly. Eventually, after her husband’s death and his divorce from his wife, they both have to confront their feelings, desires and longings.
“Old Love” is a play that prompts reflection on life and deals with important matters, including sex in mature age, but does so in an exceptionally humorous way. It is a story about a relationship that began long ago and blossomed years later thanks to the man’s determination. Bud Mitchel tries to win the heart of his distant and cold beloved. The optimism radiating from the message of “Old Love” makes it possible to believe that life can be beautiful at any age.
The cast includes: Artur Barciś, Małgorzata Ostrowska-Królikowska, Barbara Kurdej-Szatan and Mateusz Banasiuk. The performance, directed by Andrzej Chichłowski, will be staged at Forum on Thursday, January 23 at 7:00 p.m.. Tickets cost 75 zlotys. Reservations can be made on the Forum cinema website.
