A thread has appeared on our forum that can safely be called constructive criticism tinged with irony and bitter remarks. The criticism concerns a two-day event organized under the name “Mosaic of Cultures – Days of the City of Bolesławiec 2025.”

We are presenting the critical post despite being completely convinced that the organizers will not take it into account. It may even provoke their outrage and profound disagreement.

And just a reminder that nothing happened during those two days—in other words, a total failure of the “Dna Bolesławca.” Sorry, supposedly the “Days of Bolesławiec,” according to a handful of people!

My still-current post: I will ask just once: what do events grandly called the “Days of Bolesławiec,” organized, among others—or primarily—by the Association of Re-emigrants from Bosnia, Their Descendants and Friends, and the Society of Friends of Lviv and the Southeastern Borderlands, have in common with the city of Bolesławiec? Organizations bringing together small groups of elderly people who arrived in Bolesławiec decades ago?

In my opinion, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!

It should be THEIR separate celebration. (Organized—ed.) for a group of people with a personal and family interest in it. For their possible acquaintances and friends—in other words, another small group of people on the scale of the city. Under a different name, for example “regional municipal harvest festival,” and for a selected group of people: farmers, producers, etc., not for the entire city.

Most residents have nothing to do with this “celebration.” They have no idea what it is about. Zero ties or connections with these Repatriates. And they certainly imagine the “Days of Bolesławiec” differently—with a completely different program.

THE DAYS OF BOLESŁAWIEC ARE THE CELEBRATION OF THE CITY, OF ALL THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE HERE.

(The celebration held last weekend—ed.) was not the Days of Bolesławiec; these were days for re-emigrants from the former Yugoslavia, Bosnia and Croatia, and that should be the name of their celebration!

(This event should be organized—ed.) not only for a small group of elderly people. (And as an event—ed.) having practically nothing to do with the economic and social changes in our city. (…)

I will pass over the absurd choice of date. Autumn, cold, rainy days. All that remains is to cry over the ideas of our (...) people from City Hall and BOK!

Regards, and I am still waiting for genuine Days of Bolesławiec in June, not a “celebration” for a small group of people, for repatriates from different parts of Europe!!!
