During the Christmas and New Year period, sales of pyrotechnic products increase. As in previous years, police officers will conduct inspections, paying particular attention to people who may want to sell fireworks to minors. Officers remind the public: selling pyrotechnic products to minors is a crime punishable by up to two years in prison.
Moreover, the unskilled and irresponsible use of such products by adults, particularly people under the influence of alcohol, may cause an accident. When setting off firecrackers, always follow the instructions for use.
New Year's Eve is ahead of us. Unfortunately, an accident involving pyrotechnic products has already occurred. On December 16 this year, a 23-year-old man was setting off a banger outside one of the buildings in Jelenia Góra. It exploded in his hand. The man suffered serious injuries to his right hand. He was sober. Fortunately, no one else was hurt.
