Officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters arrested three residents of Bolesławiec: a 42-year-old woman and men aged 50 and 52. Based on documents containing false information, the three detainees fraudulently obtained consumer electronics worth approximately PLN 10,000 and a cash loan of PLN 16,000. In addition, police received information that the suspects were attempting to obtain another cash loan worth PLN 30,000. Actions by Bolesławiec police officers prevented another fraud that the perpetrators wanted to commit to the detriment of one of the banks. Officers recovered a television and a home theatre system worth nearly PLN 4,000.
The woman and the men were charged with fraud, obtaining a loan by deception and using documents containing false information. The suspects confessed to the alleged offences and provided explanations regarding the case. The female suspect had previously been convicted. Fraud is punishable by up to eight years in prison.
