The oath was administered directly to privates Marcin Sawczuk, Krystian Kotarski, Michał Bober and Paweł Kozak. Privates Marcin Sawczuk, Łukasz Żurawski, Daniel Muszka and Ryszard Gendziel were soldiers recognized for the best training results. Minister of National Defence Jerzy Szmajdziński offered them his congratulations. The minister was accompanied by the Commander of the Land Forces, General Edward Pietrzyk. The soldiers were also thanked by the commander of the Bolesławiec unit, Brigadier General Stanisław Butlak.
Saturday’s ceremony attracted crowds of Bolesławiec residents. The soldiers’ families, friends and passers-by watched the oath-taking ceremony, a ceremonial drill display and a procession of vehicles used by the brigade. For everyone who was hungry, the military prepared traditional pea soup.
