An international volleyball tournament for the national teams of the countries forming the Multinational Battle Group East was held at Camp Bondsteel. The 28th rotation of the Polish Military Contingent KFOR entered two teams, which faced representatives of Turkey and Ukraine. After defeating the Turkish team 2–1, the Polish-1 team reached the final, where it faced the team from Ukraine. The final match was extremely tight, but the Poles defeated their opponents 2–1. The second team representing our contingent, Polish-2, took third place.
The POLISH-1 team played with: Lt. Col. Robert Dmuchowski, Capt. Jacek Jackowski, Capt. Marek Kołodziejski, Warrant Officer Marcin Jagodzik, 1st Lt. Łukasz Misiak, Senior Corporal Rafał Krawczyk and Senior Corporal Grzegorz Gornowicz.
The Polish-2 team played with: Capt. Agnieszka Górszczyk-Oszczęda, 1st Lt. Tomasz Bartosik, 1st Lt. Anna Buława, Warrant Officer Rafał Jazłowiecki, Warrant Officer Paweł Witkowski, Warrant Officer Sebastian Nowak and Senior Private Przemysław Grabarz.
The Polish Military Contingent KFOR in Kosovo carries out a stabilization mission and is part of the Multinational Battle Group East. As part of its operational activities, the Polish contingent performs tasks involving monitoring compliance with international agreements and treaties in order to create conditions for safe living and the normalization of the situation in its area of responsibility.
The core of the new, 28th rotation of the Polish Military Contingent in Kosovo consists of soldiers from the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec—the unit responsible for forming and preparing the contingent—as well as the Special Branch of the Military Police from Mińsk Mazowiecki and the 1st Storage Battalion from Olsztyn, part of the 1st Logistics Brigade.
