General Philip M. Breedlove, Supreme Allied Commander Europe, visited Camp Cabra on June 6, where soldiers of the maneuver company of PKW KFOR are stationed. During the visit, the commander of the maneuver company, Captain Grzegorz Jopek, briefed General Breedlove and the accompanying commander of the KFOR Forces in Kosovo, General Volker Halbauer, on the current situation in the company’s area of responsibility and the ongoing tasks carried out by Polish soldiers.

At the end of the visit, the guests familiarized themselves with the organization of the company’s TOC (Tactical Operation Center) and the base’s infrastructure and equipment.

The Polish KFOR Military Contingent in Kosovo carries out a stabilization mission and forms part of the Multinational Battle Group – East. As part of its operational activities, the Polish contingent monitors compliance with international agreements and treaties in order to create conditions for safe living and to normalize the situation in its area of responsibility.

The core of the new, 28th rotation of PKW in Kosovo consists of soldiers from the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment from Bolesławiec—the unit responsible for forming and preparing the contingent—as well as the Special Branch of the Military Police from Mińsk Mazowiecki and the 1st Storage Battalion from Olsztyn, part of the 1st Logistics Brigade.
