Two residents of our county, aged 53 and 60, were apprehended by officers on suspicion of possessing and distributing tobacco without Polish excise stamps. The first was detained shortly after purchasing more than 2 kg of illegal tobacco. In the apartment of the second suspect, officers found more than 4 kg of tobacco of unknown origin.
Preliminary findings indicate that both detainees sold illegal tobacco to residents of Gmina Bolesławiec. The 53- and 60-year-old men now face a sentence of up to 3 years in prison.
