At the Public Psychological and Pedagogical Counseling Center (PPP-P), fifteen specialists from various fields examine two and a half thousand children every year. Children from birth through their final school years are diagnosed and helped here. A total of 17,715 children receive support. The modernized facility is now located at Tyrankiewiczów Street (the building of I Liceum Ogólnokształcące, entrance from the courtyard).
– Modernizing this facility, which is so necessary for the county, was our priority – said starosta Cezary Przybylski at today’s official opening of the rooms. – We are a leader in education in the voivodeship, and properly diagnosing a student is of enormous importance. It was worth incurring the high costs of this modernization also because of the people working at the counseling center. The director and her team are highly qualified professionals – the starosta added.
Cezariusz Rudyk emphasized at the official opening of the PPP-P that the high qualifications of the counseling center’s staff made it possible to obtain nearly one and a half million zlotys in external funding for the rooms.
– It should be emphasized that our county has specialists capable of helping children with serious disabilities – said PPP-P director Teresa Rudzińska. – Because the county subsidized very expensive training for my employees, county residents can receive on-site assistance, including help for children with impaired vision and hearing – the director added.
The new headquarters has excellently equipped rooms and is modern and colorful. Children feel comfortable here. – They do not come to an impersonal office, but to a friendly, colorful and warm place – said Rudzińska. – Here, adults welcome them with joy and offer their knowledge to help them with illnesses, problems, difficulties or future career choices. When children now enter the new headquarters, they say just one thing: “Wow, it’s beautiful here,” added the director, pleased with the move.
