On St Nicholas Day, policewomen together with Adam Fornal, head of the Polish Red Cross in Bolesławiec, held talks on the safety of elderly and lonely people. The meetings, organized as part of the preventive program “ABC of a Safe Senior,” took place at the Residential Care Home, the Day Care Home and the II Community Self-Help Home in Bolesławiec.
The officers spoke, among other things, about situations in which older people may become victims of fraudsters (they mentioned the “grandchild” and “social welfare worker” methods). The president of the Polish Red Cross reminded the seniors of the principles of providing first aid.
Each meeting concluded with the distribution of reflective bands.
