On 31 May, police officers from Bolesławiec arrested a 38-year-old man. The officers checked two men sitting in a car parked on one of the streets of Bolesławiec. It turned out that one of them had several portions of marijuana on him. Suspecting that the man might be dealing drugs, the officers decided to search the 38-year-old’s property in a town near Bolesławiec. The officers’ suspicions were confirmed. After searching the residential and utility buildings, the police found and secured more than 6.5 kilograms of marijuana and 10 kg of tobacco without Polish excise stamps in the attic. In addition, there was a greenhouse on the property in which, as it turned out, cannabis was being cultivated. In total, the police secured 35 plants.
The arrested man had previously been recorded for drug-related offenses. Police officers from Bolesławiec are now clarifying all the circumstances of the case in detail, including where the arrested man obtained the drugs and tobacco and what their intended subsequent use was. The 38-year-old has already been charged. By court decision, following a motion from the prosecutor’s office, he was remanded in custody for three months. For the acts of which he is suspected, he now faces a sentence of up to 8 years in prison.
