The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 15, at a construction site on Dolne Młyny Street in Bolesławiec. At around 9:40 a.m., the police duty officer received a report that an excavator operator had dug up two unexploded ordnance items during construction work. A police bomb disposal technician, among others, went to the scene. A nearby kindergarten and fitness club were evacuated.
Fortunately, no one was injured. Sappers dealt with the dangerous find.
