Burned doors, damaged handles, a smashed peephole, a broken tree and graffiti on the building by the district Orlik pitch (II Liceum Ogólnokształcące) — this act of vandalism took place on Sunday, March 25, at around 3 p.m. The perpetrators were recorded by a surveillance camera. “I reported the matter to the police,” says Mirosław Sakowski, headmaster of II LO. Damage was estimated at PLN 2,500. The vandals face up to five years in prison.

This is not the first such crime to have occurred on the school premises. In October last year, we reported that two teenagers had been detained by the police after damaging the school’s façade. They told officers that they had painted “graffiti” because… they were bored. The Orlik’s fence is also repeatedly vandalized. Last year, II LO spent more than PLN 3,500 on repairing the fence alone.
