Bolesławiec police conducted a “Seat Belts” operation. Officers paid particular attention to whether drivers and passengers were wearing their seat belts. The results are not encouraging. The officers inspected 95 cars. As many as 84 people were travelling without their seat belts fastened (in two cases, the matter will be decided in court).
Police remind drivers: seat belts are the most effective way to ensure safety while driving. Half of the victims of fatal road accidents could be alive if they had been wearing seat belts at the moment of impact. What is more, failing to wear a seat belt is an offence punishable by a PLN 100 fine and 2 penalty points.
