Our Reader asked us to publicize the matter. In an email to the editorial office, she wrote: “Our child has been attending swimming school since last year. The previous year, we went to the ‘old’ MOSiR indoor pool; now we go to Orka. And it was at this new facility that problems began. Despite Mr. Orka’s president assuring us that the children’s swimming schools would move to the new facility almost seamlessly, those run by instructors from MOSiR kept encountering some ‘strange’ problems. Ultimately, we were informed that the swimming schools that were, in a sense, a continuation of those at the old pool were ceasing to exist, while we were offered places in classes run by other instructors—those currently or formerly associated with the TOP club, whose president, incidentally, is also Mr. Tomczyk.”
She added: “In this way, Orka is ultimately getting rid of experienced instructors who have worked with children for a long time and is offering new teaching staff from the TOP club, often unfortunately without qualifications as high as those possessed by the instructors being dismissed. We, the parents, are outraged.”
As Robert Tomczyk, head of the Bolesławiec Water Park “Orka,” assured us, the swimming schools are operating according to the established schedule, and the company is not planning any changes. “The instructors working with children have not received notices of termination. Due to the instructors’ sudden termination of their employment contracts and bearing in mind the children’s welfare and the continuity of classes, I arranged replacements. I regret the lack of responsibility shown by the ‘experienced instructors’ for teaching and raising children,” Tomczyk says. He emphasizes that all instructors working at Orka have the appropriate qualifications and that parents have no reason to worry.
