Bolesławiec Orka Aquatic Park announced today that the gym has been closed. The published announcement contained a brief statement: “THE GYM AT ORKA IS CLOSED.” At the same time, residents were invited to use the Bolesławiec Brine Baths.
The announcement refers to statements made by Mayor Piotr Roman during the August session of the Bolesławiec City Council. As we reported a few days ago, a modernization project for the Bolesławiec Orka Aquatic Park is being prepared.
One of the topics under consideration is reportedly the future of the gym operating there. During the August Council meeting, the mayor pointed out that more places offering this type of service are being established in Bolesławiec:
We must consider, among other things, whether the gym at Orka should continue to exist, because several new gyms are currently being established in Bolesławiec.
The mayor also emphasized that any changes would concern the gym at Orka, and not the one operating at the Bolesławiec Brine Baths. If the gym at Orka were closed permanently, the City would also consider using the space it occupies for another purpose.
For now, however, there is no information that Monday’s closure means the gym has been permanently shut down. The mayor’s earlier statements indicated that its future was still being analyzed as part of the planned modernization of the facility.
We will return to this topic.
