Bolesławiec Police Among the Best in Lower Silesia. They Took Third Place

The provincial qualifiers for the “Criminal Police Officer of the Year 2026” competition were held from 7–9 September 2026. The event was organised at the Provincial Police Headquarters and at a hunting shooting range in Wrocław.

Teams representing the municipal and county commands of the Lower Silesian Police garrison took part in the competition. Among them was the team representing the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.

After all the events had been completed, the competition committee totalled the points scored. In the team classification, the KMP team from Legnica proved to be the best. The KPP team from Świdnica took second place, while third place went to the officers from the KPP in Bolesławiec.

They had to demonstrate knowledge and practical skills

The competition was not limited solely to testing theoretical knowledge. Each team consisted of officers representing different areas of criminal police service: an investigative officer, an operational and reconnaissance officer, a forensic technician and an officer supervising investigative work.

The participants first took a written knowledge test. They then completed practical tasks in the form of case studies tailored to their respective specialisations.

The next events required the direct use of skills acquired during daily service. Among other things, the officers had to demonstrate their abilities during the examination of a crime scene and their knowledge of the principles of providing first aid.

There was also a shooting event combined with elements of physical fitness.

Bolesławiec Team on the Podium

The competition was fierce, and the final result was determined by the total number of points scored in all events. Ultimately, the officers from Bolesławiec finished third in the province.

KMP Legnica took first place, KPP Świdnica second, and KPP Bolesławiec third.

The primary aim of the competition is to promote the knowledge and practical skills of criminal police officers, as well as to motivate them to continually improve their professional qualifications.

The best officers in the individual categories will represent the Lower Silesian Police garrison at the final of the nationwide “Criminal Police Officer of the Year 2026” competition. The final will be held at the Police School in Piła.
