A Bolesławiec resident decided to clean up, on her own initiative, the woods located near the Dino store in the Osiedle Kwiatowe housing estate. During the cleanup, she managed to collect the waste in three bags, each with a capacity of approximately 30 litres.

The problem arose later – the reader wanted someone to collect the rubbish. First, she contacted the Municipal Housing Management Company, which referred her to the Municipal Communal Services Company. At first, it was not clear whether either of the municipal units would handle the matter.
– Not only does a person clean up, but then there is no one to take it away – she told our editorial team.
The resident was concerned that the bags left by the roadside might be torn open and their contents end up again in the area she had cleaned. She therefore announced that she would put the bags out by the main street.
We asked MZGK about the matter. It turned out that the main issue was a misunderstanding. A representative of the municipal company told us that she had contacted MZGM, which would collect the bags later today.
She also noted that reporting the planned cleanup effort in advance would have made it easier to organise the collection of the waste.
The situation also shows that, in the case of this type of grassroots cleanup effort, it is worthwhile informing the municipal units about the planned action in advance. This makes it possible to establish how the collected waste will be picked up and avoid unnecessary confusion.
In this case, according to our findings, it was not a lack of willingness to help, but an incorrect referral of the request.
