The new bridge over the Bóbr River was opened to traffic on 26 August. Since then, drivers have had to follow the changed traffic arrangements connected with the reconstruction of approximately 600 metres of national road No. 94. New crossing rules are in force in the area, and drivers must pay particular attention to the signs.

According to a report from our reader, the problem of incorrect manoeuvres nevertheless continues. According to her account, today at around 4 p.m., Zgorzelecka Street was congested from the intersection with Łokietka-Wesoła Street all the way to the bridge itself. Drivers heading toward the bypass were turning left despite the ban, creating a hazard.

According to her information, driving through this section by car took up to 30 minutes.

Today's situation and the heavier traffic were also affected by a car fire on the A4 motorway. During firefighting operations and police investigations, traffic on the motorway was halted and diverted onto DW297 and DK94 and through Bolesławiec.

Ignoring the signs causes additional disruptions and may lead to dangerous situations. Drivers who are not yet familiar with the new road layout should pay particular attention to the signs and not follow the behaviour of other road users.

New Bridge, New Traffic Arrangements

Moving traffic onto the new bridge allowed the contractor to begin the next stage of the project, which includes, among other things, demolishing the existing crossing and building a new bridge.

From the outset, drivers have nevertheless been drawing attention to the traffic arrangements in the project area. Comments about the signage appeared on social media, and some drivers pointed out that the road layout could be particularly problematic for people travelling through here for the first time.

For now, one thing remains unchanged – a large proportion of drivers still fail to comply with the signs in force, and serious disruptions occur near the new bridge during peak hours.
