On September 24–25, the Military-Sports Championships for soldiers of the National Reserve Forces were held at the training facilities of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Brigade in Bolesławiec. The event was organized by the Association of Former Soldiers of the 62nd Special Company “Commando,” with the support of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment.
Thirty-six soldiers, including two women, took part in the competition. The championships were officially opened by Major General Zbigniew Galec of the General Staff of the Polish Army. Among the guests were, among others, Colonel Jarosław Dębski from the Department of Education and Defence Promotion of the Ministry of National Defence, and Jerzy Kociałkowski from the Land Forces Command.
At the Bolesławiec garrison, the competitors were welcomed by Colonel Mirosław Misior, deputy commander of the 23rd Artillery Brigade, and Senior Warrant Officer, Reserve Bogdan Fiałkowski, deputy head of the “Commando” Association.
The NSR soldiers competed in a swimming course, at the Physical Fitness Centre and in a 5-kilometre cross-country run, during which they had to, among other things, throw a grenade at a target, carry ammunition boxes, dismantle and assemble a weapon against the clock, and complete an obstacle course made of tyres.
The ceremonial closing of the championships took place on September 25. The cups and prizes were presented by General Galec and Lieutenant Colonel, Reserve Andrzej Żdan, president of the “Commando” Association.

In addition, guests attending the competition had the opportunity to visit Ceramika Artystyczna – the Artistic Handicraft Cooperative in Bolesławiec – and the studio of Stanisław Borowski, a world-renowned glass artist from Tomaszów Bolesławiecki.
The championships were supported by: Ceramika Artystyczna – the Artistic Handicraft Cooperative in Bolesławiec, the “Baryt” Search and Rescue Unit and Rev. Prelate Andrzej Jarosiewicz. The competition was commissioned and fully funded by the Ministry of National Defence.
