One of the problems can be seen at the exit from the Orlen fuel station. Drivers who want to join traffic on DK94, should turn right. Appropriate road signs are in place, indicating the required direction of travel.
Despite this, many drivers do something completely different—they turn left, performing a maneuver that violates the road signs currently in force.
It is enough to stand at this location for a few minutes to see how often such situations occur. This is not an isolated case of a driver who made a mistake or failed to notice the sign. Turning left at this location has become extremely common. Just a few minutes of observation are enough to see how many drivers fail to follow the signs.
How much does such a maneuver cost?
In this case, the issue is failure to comply with the signs: mandatory direction C-2 (mandatory right turn after the sign) and B-21 (no left turn). For such a maneuver, a driver may receive a fine and penalty points.
The penalty schedule provides for 5 points for failing to comply with either sign B-21, “no left turn,” or sign C-2, “mandatory right turn.” The fine for failing to comply with the above signs ranges from PLN 200 to PLN 250. However, this does not automatically mean a double penalty—the officer decides how the specific offense is classified.
It is therefore worth paying attention to the signs. The new traffic organization may not yet be intuitive for drivers, but the road signs in force must be respected.
