A controversial banner that appeared in mid-July on Cieszkowskiego Street in Bolesławiec will not go without consequences. By analysing, among other things, CCTV footage, police identified the person allegedly responsible for putting it up.

A banner with a vulgar slogan referring to the UPA and Stepan Bandera appeared on a fence on Cieszkowskiego Street, between a restaurant and the new headquarters of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters.

As the police informed istotne.pl , a suspect was identified based on CCTV footage. He turned out to be an 18-year-old.

The man responded to the police summons. He was charged under Article 141 of the Code of Petty Offences, which concerns placing indecent notices, inscriptions or drawings in a public place or using indecent words.

The case will be decided in court. The teenager faces a penalty of restriction of liberty, a fine of up to PLN 1,500, or a reprimand.
