The reconstruction of the distinctive above-ground heating network on Wróblewski Street in Bolesławiec, which began in July, may be delayed even further. During the August session of the Bolesławiec City Council, Mayor Piotr Roman spoke about problems connected with the investment of the Heating Energy Company.

The investment involves removing the rather unattractive pipes and moving the entire network “underground.”

In July, we reported that the work had begun. But little has changed since then.

While presenting a report at the August meeting of the Bolesławiec City Council on the most important actions taken between sessions, the Mayor of Bolesławiec mentioned delays in carrying out the investment near the municipal pond. He immediately added:

It is similar when it comes to the investment of the ZEC president, President Kowalski (…). The president will have a visit from an ornithologist and a herpetologist, who will say whether it can be done already or not yet.

It therefore appears that this site, too, will require another environmental assessment. An ornithologist studies birds, while a herpetologist studies, among other things, amphibians and reptiles.

The Mayor added that such modernization of the heating installation cannot be carried out in winter. “That would be difficult,” the mayor noted.

We will return to the subject.
