The incident occurred at an intersection near the viaduct. The 19-year-old Renault driver from Bolesławiec County failed to yield the right of way, as a result of which he hit a Hyundai.
Fortunately, no one suffered serious injuries. The incident was classified as a collision, and the teenage driver was issued a warning.
Will a roundabout be built here?
The topic of rebuilding this intersection had already come up before. Last year, during the January session of the Bolesławiec City Council, Mayor Piotr Roman announced that the municipal authorities intended to cooperate with the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways on preparing the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Wróblewski Street and Dolne Młyny Street. The project would improve traffic flow and reduce the number of collisions and accidents.
It is not yet known when the planned roundabout might be built. However, today’s collision once again shows that rebuilding this location remains one of the key challenges in improving road safety in Bolesławiec.
