The city and county championships for gymnasium schools in the athletics league are now behind us. The competition was held on Tuesday, September 20, at the municipal stadium. The Bolesławiec and county champions were the girls from Gymnasium No. 2, competing in the following lineup: Ewa Ochocka, Klaudia Kociołek, Emilia Biegacz, Kamila Kamińska, Honorata Polak, Katarzyna Kołodyńska, Karolina Wolska, Patrycja Heryng, Eryka Baran, Barbara Busłowicz, Aneta Kowalik, Laura Buryło, Patrycja Gałkus, Paula Michalak and Monika Sandak. The team’s supervisor is Jadwiga Stachów.
The athletics team from GS No. 1 won the city silver medal (third place in the county standings), while the county silver medal went to competitors from Nowogrodziec. The girls from GS No. 3 finished third in the city standings.
In the boys’ category, the city and county championship was won by the team from GS No. 2 (lineup: Przemysław Ziembikiewicz, Bartek Ziółkowski, Robert Polański, Jakub Nenkin, Maciej Mocny, Wojciech Karaban, Rafał Wójtowicz, Marcin Liana, Damian Korecki, Dawid Braszko, Kacper Olszewski, Wojciech Turek, Damian Gradzik, Piotr Kraus and Szymon Laudański). The team’s supervisor is Tomasz Markowski.
The athletes from GS No. 1 became Bolesławiec runners-up, while the county runners-up were the competitors from Nowogrodziec. The athletes from GS No. 3 took third place in the city team standings, while GS No. 1 students finished third in the county standings.
The competition was organized by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre and the County Centre for Education and Staff Training.
