A driving-school vehicle was stopped for inspection on August 8, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m. in Jelenia Góra. Officers from the Traffic Department noticed a car marked with the letter “L” and checked the speed at which it was traveling near the intersection.

The measurement showed 96 km/h, while the speed limit there was 70 km/h. This meant the permitted speed had been exceeded by 26 km/h.

An 18-year-old learner driver behind the wheel, with an instructor beside her

The car was being driven by an 18-year-old learner driver. A 21-year-old driving instructor was seated in the passenger seat.

The instructor was held responsible for the offense. Police issued her a fine and penalty points.

The situation is also noteworthy because of the nature of the vehicle. After all, a car bearing the distinctive letter “L” is used to train people who are only just learning how to travel correctly and safely on the roads.

Good habits should be formed during driving lessons

The training period for a future driver is a time to acquire not only technical skills but also appropriate habits. Obeying speed limits, watching for signs, exercising caution near intersections, and properly assessing the situation on the road are fundamental elements of safe driving.

Police remind drivers that the “L” designation does not exempt anyone from complying with traffic regulations. On the contrary, a driving-school vehicle should set an example of proper behavior on the road.
