As late as Friday evening, August 7, Kamienna Góra police issued a statement which said that:
After 7:00 p.m., officers from the District Police Headquarters in Kamienna Góra were informed that a 15-year-old had been injured with a dangerous object near a building on Księcia Bolka I Street in Kamienna Góra.
The findings indicated that the victim’s condition was serious and life-threatening. Police patrols were immediately sent to the scene, where they secured the area and established the course of events.
As a result of procedural and operational activities, Kamienna Góra police determined that two 16-year-olds might be connected to the incident. Officers located the minors and carried out activities with them.
As later reported by junior warrant officer Katarzyna Trzepak from the District Police Headquarters in Kamienna Góra:
After carrying out the necessary activities with one of the 16-year-olds, police released him to his home. The other minor was detained in a police juvenile holding facility as a suspect in the offense.
All the materials collected by Kamienna Góra police will be forwarded to the family court, which will decide the detained 16-year-old’s further fate. The victim’s condition is life-threatening. Last night, he was transported by the Polish Medical Air Rescue service to a hospital in Wrocław.
All those involved in the incident are residents of Kamienna Góra.
Incident near the event
The attack occurred on Księcia Bolka I Street, near the municipal reservoir, where events connected with the outdoor Zalew Fest 2026 festival were taking place at the time.
Police stress, however, that the incident itself took place outside the event grounds and was unrelated to it. The large number of people in the area initially made it more difficult for officers to carry out their duties.
Investigators are still establishing the exact course of events and the role of the individual people involved. At this point, police are not disclosing further details about the motive or circumstances of the attack.
