A serious accident involving a motorcyclist occurred on Sunday, July 26, on the link road leading from the A4 motorway toward the S3 expressway. The rider lost control of the motorcycle on a bend and crashed into an energy-absorbing barrier with great force. As a result of the incident, he sustained serious bodily injuries.
Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene. The injured man received medical assistance and was then transported to hospital.
Police officers examined the scene, secured traces and gathered evidence that will help establish the exact causes and course of the accident. An expert in the reconstruction of road accidents also took part in the proceedings.
Police remind the public that the motorcycle season is underway and that motorcyclists are among the most vulnerable road users. Even a minor mistake, a moment of inattention or failure to adjust speed to the conditions can lead to very serious consequences.
Officers appeal to motorcyclists to exercise common sense at the wheel. Speed should always be adjusted not only to the applicable limits, but also to the conditions on the road, the type of road surface and one's own abilities. It is also important to maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, use the proper technique when negotiating bends and wear full protective equipment, including a helmet and motorcycle clothing.
Police officers stress that every kilometre travelled by motorcycle should be a conscious and responsible decision. Road safety depends above all on the common sense of drivers and compliance with traffic rules.
