On Tuesday evening, July 21, a dangerous incident occurred on the A4 motorway in the direction of Legnica. At the 69th kilometre of the route, beyond the Jadwisin interchange, a tractor-trailer with a semi-trailer collided with a passenger car towing a trailer.

As a result of the collision, the truck caught fire. In addition, its fuel tank was damaged, causing diesel fuel to leak and increasing the danger at the scene.

The duty officer of the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Złotoryja received information about the accident at 19:58. Firefighters from the Rescue and Firefighting Unit in Złotoryja, Rescue and Firefighting Unit 3 in Chojnów, as well as volunteer firefighters from the Volunteer Fire Services in Zagrodno and Krzywa, were immediately dispatched.

The rescuers secured the scene, sealed the damaged fuel tank and extinguished the burning tractor-trailer using water streams with the addition of foam concentrate. Police officers, a motorway patrol and roadside assistance workers were also present at the scene.

Despite the very alarming appearance of the incident, the most important information is that no one was injured.

The police will investigate the circumstances and causes of the collision.
