Yesterday, a fatal road accident occurred on one of the roads in the Węgliniec municipality. According to the officers’ preliminary findings, a 39-year-old Ford driver failed to yield the right of way to a 34-year-old motorcyclist who was travelling correctly on a Honda. As a result of the collision, the rider suffered serious injuries.
The injured man was transported to hospital, where doctors fought to save his life. Unfortunately, despite the medical assistance provided, the man died.
The exact circumstances and course of the tragic accident are being determined as part of the ongoing proceedings. The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zgorzelec.
The police once again appeal to all road users to exercise particular caution. Officers remind everyone that road safety depends on the responsibility of every driver, motorcyclist and pedestrian.
