During a night patrol, officers from the Traffic Division of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec intervened. The police stopped a scooter rider for inspection in one of the localities in Bolesławiec municipality.

The man's behaviour aroused the officers' suspicions from the very beginning of the intervention. A sobriety test confirmed that the 22-year-old was operating the vehicle with nearly 2 promille of alcohol in his system.

That was not the end of the young driver's problems. The officers checked his details and established that he did not have the required driving licence.

The scooter was secured.

The resident of Bolesławiec County will now face court for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and driving without a licence. Such offences carry a penalty of up to 3 years in prison.

Police appeal

Police remind the public that an intoxicated driver poses a serious threat to the life and health of both themselves and other road users. Officers appeal for common sense and responsibility behind the wheel.
