Bolesławiec police officers conducted intensified road operations aimed at improving safety at the start of the holiday season. The operation took place on the day the school year ended, when traffic on the roads increases due to the first holiday trips.
Officers checked nearly 500 drivers. The main aim of the operation was to remove people driving under the influence of alcohol from traffic and to increase the safety of all road users.
Although the vast majority of drivers were traveling in accordance with the regulations, police officers identified two cases of driving a vehicle after consuming alcohol. The people detained are residents of Bolesławiec County. They will be held responsible for driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
Police remind the public that even a small amount of alcohol can affect the ability to drive. Reduced concentration, longer reaction times and poorer assessment of the situation on the road increase the risk of dangerous incidents.
During the holiday season, officers announce further checks and appeal for common sense behind the wheel. Road safety depends not only on following the regulations, but also on responsible decisions made before setting out on a journey.
