On June 8, 2026, another group of candidates for Voluntary Basic Military Service passed through the gates of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment, thereby beginning a new stage in their military journey. The volunteers face intensive weeks of training, during which they will acquire basic military knowledge, develop practical skills, and prepare to take the solemn military oath.
The following day, June 9, a ceremonial assembly was held, marking one of the first important moments of service for the new trainees. During the ceremony, the candidates were presented with weapons, an inseparable element of military training. This symbolic, but also very important, stage of preparation emphasized the responsibility and importance of service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland.
The ceremony was also an opportunity to recognize soldiers serving in the regiment. The unit commander presented awards and distinctions to people who had achieved outstanding results while carrying out their assigned duties.
The start of another Voluntary Basic Military Service training cycle at the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment confirms the continuing interest in voluntary military service and the readiness of more young people to take on the challenge of serving the country’s security and defense.
