The incident occurred overnight from Sunday to Monday on the A18. A Volvo passenger car hit crash barriers. The report was received by firefighters from Bolesławiec at around 4:50 a.m. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene.
The man driving the vehicle, a Slovenian citizen, did not suffer serious injuries. He refused transport to hospital.
The foreign national was issued a fine.
Due to the operation, traffic on the route towards Wrocław was temporarily halted. Representatives of the road operator were also working at the scene, restoring full traffic flow on the section.
The firefighters' operation ended at around 6:30 a.m. Police are determining the causes and circumstances of the incident. Officers are appealing for caution and prudence on the road.
