At around 9:22 a.m. on Friday, a dangerous road accident occurred at the 128th kilometre of the A4 motorway toward Wrocław. Two trucks collided there.
Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene. As reported by the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Środa Śląska, the extent of the damage to the vehicles could have indicated significantly more serious consequences for those involved in the accident.
Photographs taken at the scene show how great the force of the impact was. Despite the frightening appearance of the wrecked vehicles, one of the drivers can consider himself extremely lucky. He escaped the incident virtually uninjured.
The firefighters’ efforts focused primarily on securing the scene and ensuring the safety of the other road users.
The police are investigating the circumstances and exact causes of the collision.
The operation involved units of KP PSP Środa Śląska, firefighters from JRG 6 KM PSP Wrocław, volunteer firefighters from OSP Kostomłoty, and officers of the District Police Headquarters in Środa Śląska.
On the occasion of this incident, firefighters once again remind drivers of the need to form an emergency corridor. Proper behavior by road users enables emergency services to reach accident scenes more quickly and provide assistance to injured people. In situations where every minute counts, a properly formed emergency corridor can be crucial for the health and lives of those involved in road accidents.
