The youngest residents of Bolesławiec and the surrounding area had the opportunity to visit a military unit. On Tuesday, 19 May 2026, the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment organized an open barracks day aimed primarily at the youngest visitors.

The organizers prepared numerous attractions, presentations of military equipment and demonstrations by the unit’s soldiers. It was one of the few opportunities to enter the barracks grounds and see up close the equipment used by artillery soldiers.

The open day was not only educational, but also promotional and integrative. Participants could learn about the specifics of military service, talk to soldiers and find out more about the unit’s daily operations.

This year’s event was also held as part of the celebrations marking the 160th anniversary of the birth of Gen. Tadeusz Jordan-Rozwadowski, one of the most important commanders in the history of the Polish Army. This additional element emphasized the historical and patriotic character of the event.
