The incident occurred during activities conducted by officers of the Traffic Department of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. The officers stopped a car driven by a 27-year-old man for inspection. The driver's behavior aroused their suspicions within the first few minutes of the intervention.

First, a breathalyzer test was carried out. The result showed that the man was sober. However, this did not conclude the inspection. The officers decided to perform a drug test, which confirmed the presence of narcotic substances in the driver's system.

As a result, the officers confiscated the 27-year-old's driving licence.

This was not the only consequence. During the inspection, it also turned out that the vehicle driven by the 27-year-old was in poor technical condition, so the officers also confiscated the vehicle registration certificate.

The man will now face charges for driving a vehicle under the influence of narcotic substances. This type of offence is punishable by up to 3 years in prison.

The police remind the public that driving after taking drugs poses a serious threat to all road users. A driver's reaction is delayed in such circumstances, and the risk of causing an accident increases significantly.
