Police chase after speeding
The incident occurred during routine operations by officers from the Traffic Division. The police noticed a vehicle travelling at an exceptionally high speed in a built-up area. The measurement left no doubt—the driver was travelling at 120 km/h where the speed limit was 40 km/h.
The officers immediately attempted to stop the vehicle. However, the Volkswagen driver ignored the clear visual and audible signals, then accelerated sharply and began fleeing.
The escape and a swift response from the services
Additional patrols were sent to join the chase, allowing the vehicle to be stopped quickly. The driver was a 31-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County. As the police emphasize, his behaviour could have led to a tragedy on the road.
After the arrest, officers quickly established why the man had tried to avoid the inspection.
Shocking police findings
It turned out that the 31-year-old was subject to an active court ban on driving all motor vehicles. His driving privileges had also been revoked.
That was not all. A test showed the presence of intoxicating substances in the driver's system, and the police found drugs on him.
The case will go to court
The vehicle driven by the man was secured in a police car park. The court will now decide the 31-year-old's further fate.
The police remind the public that disregarding traffic regulations and driving despite a ban are serious offences that can have tragic consequences—for both the offender and other road users.
