The District Prosecutor’s Office in Lubań has filed an indictment with the court against a 45-year-old resident of Lubań County, charged with making criminal threats, insulting his mother using words commonly regarded as abusive, and violating his brother’s bodily integrity.
– The investigation established that the perpetrator lived with his mother and brother. For a long time, he had abused alcohol, under the influence of which he started domestic arguments and behaved aggressively toward the other household members – explains Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra.
The Lubań prosecutor’s office had previously conducted criminal proceedings against the 45-year-old for abusing family members. Those proceedings ended on December 29 of last year with an indictment being filed with the District Court in Lubań.
However, this did little to help. Spokeswoman: – The perpetrator continued to behave aggressively toward his mother and brother, and on January 16, 2026, during another domestic argument, he violated the victim’s bodily integrity by kicking him in the abdomen, while insulting his mother using words commonly regarded as abusive.
What is more, while holding a kitchen knife, he threatened to kill them. The victims feared that he would carry out the threats because of the perpetrator’s previous conduct.
The man was charged. He faces up to three years in prison.
The defendant admitted committing the offenses of which he was accused. He gave an explanation.
He had not previously been convicted. Separate criminal proceedings against him for abusing the same victims are currently pending before the District Court in Lubań.
