President Piotr Roman recalled during the February session of the Bolesławiec City Council that recently Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz had stated that the City of Ceramics would be the symbolic location of Fort Trump. The mayor said:

A lot will be happening in Bolesławiec. We cannot talk about everything. The plans concerning both the expansion of the Polish military unit and those concerning the American troops are enormous.

He added:

From the perspective of Bolesławiec’s economic development, we are receiving an incredible boost. We estimate the annual demand generated by the American troops at several dozen million dollars, which is spent primarily in Bolesławiec. That makes us happy. It is enough to look at the Market Square, where until recently there were three or four restaurants, and now there are 20.

He also emphasized that the restaurateurs themselves confirm that without the young Americans, these establishments would operate on a much more limited scale.

– The soldiers have taken a liking to Bolesławiec – the mayor added.

We will return to this topic.
