From Friday, February 6, to Sunday, February 8, road traffic police officers carried out intensified preventive and inspection activities throughout Lower Silesia under the name “Speed.” Police:

This is one of the regularly conducted operations aimed at fighting dangerous drivers. Speed checks were carried out using video recorders and handheld meters, while the locations of measurement points were frequently changed.

During the operation in Bolesławiec County, officers recorded 55 traffic violations, 42 of which involved exceeding the permitted speed limit.

In addition to speed checks, during the operation police officers paid particular attention to drivers’ sobriety, the use of seat belts and devices for safely transporting children, as well as the technical condition of vehicles.

What were the results of the operation in Bolesławiec County?

During the operation, Bolesławiec police officers arrested, among others, a 42-year-old resident of the town, who was driving under the influence of a narcotic substance, and a 58-year-old resident of Opole Voivodeship, who was driving at over 180 km/h on the motorway where the speed limit was 110 km/h.
